When A Dental Crown May Be Used
Dental crowns can be used to help a variety of problems, including:
- Worn or chipped teeth
- Large cavities
- Extra support after a root canal
- Dental implants
- and more
Crowns may be used if your tooth needs more protection than a filling can provide. When you come in for your appointment, we will thoroughly examine the injured tooth. Digital impressions may be taken to develop a model of the tooth to create your dental crown. The measurements will be sent to a lab to create the restoration. The crown may be made out of materials such as porcelain or zirconia, depending on your needs. When the restoration is ready, your dentist will secure it in place.
